The TBR-119 is a versatile manpack tactical radio designed for transmitting from 1.5MHz to 520MHz using software defined radio technology.
The HamGeek TBR-119 is a versatile manpack tactical radio designed for transmitting from 1.5MHz to 520MHz using software defined radio technology. As a multi-purpose vehicle or backpack radio station, it supports all the functions of traditional radios including SSB, CW, AM, FM, and DMR modes.
The radio features an automatic internal antenna tuner to work with various tactical and static antennas. Its protection level meets IP67 standards and uses robust military-grade connectors. In vehicle or base station configurations, the RF output power increases to 20W or 100W PEP on HF, and 20W on VHF when powered by its attached lithium battery or external 13.8V DC supply. It can also operate as a signal relay.
Based on an SDR platform, the TBR-119 meets the needs of most users while providing future-proof digital upgrades. Optional modules allow adding functions such as digital voice, encryption, and frequency hopping ideal for military and security applications. Integrated modules include Bluetooth, GPS, electronic compass, and barometer. Customers can further expand coverage with satellite comm modules like Iridium.
Key technical specs include excellent receiving sensitivity and transmission power up to 20W standard or 100W with the optional high power amplifier. The battery compartment uses a snap-in design for fast swapping in the field. Additional features are DSP noise cancellation, a remote control interface, and frequency hopping up to 5 hops/second to resist jamming and interception. Digital voice supports 700/1200/2400 bps rates over poor signals with low delay and encryption. An assortment of built-in or external modems enables data transfer above 4800 bps.
